1/17/2023 • Connecting as a community through pizza crust and conversation! Officers shared a meal with some Rethke Ave. residents last week during a meet-and-greet event. They answered questions from attendees and got the chance to personally connect with those they serve. Madison Community Policing Foundation donated the pizzas!

12/19/2022 • West side neighborhood officers and members of the Meadowood Neighborhood Association loaded carts full of diapers, formula and cleaning supplies. They were given $1,000 to supply the Meadowood Neighborhood Center Pantry with some high-demand items. The money was donated by those who live in the area to help their neighbors in need. A huge thanks to the Association and Madison Community Policing Foundation for each donating $500! And to the Meadowood Health Partnerships group for all their assistance. A joint effort making a huge difference in our community!

In this photo, MPPOA President Officer Kelly Powers presents a check to MCPF Chair Joe Balles for $6,100 raised at this year's event. Thank you for selecting MCPF as the benefiting charity for this year's golf outing!

Summer 2022 • MCPF and the Madison Police Department collaborated on our seven-week, summer Community Read program from youth in grades 3-8. Thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Evjue Foundation and additional financial support from many MCPF donors, 19 youth participated at our MPD South and West District sites (Urban League and Good Shepherd Church). We are grateful to the current and retired educators who served as tutors and received stipends from MCPF for their professional services throughout the summer.

5/28/2022 • Former MPD officers and MCPF Board members Joe Balles and Joe Durkin volunteered on behalf of the Madison Community Policing Foundation to cook up brats Saturday morning for the 40th anniversary of Brat Fest. Tim Metcalfe and the Metcalfe family have been great partners and collaborators with MCPF.

‘They’re not alone in this journey’: Madison police staff raise money for LGBTQ+ teens

Madison police officers are tasked with protecting the community, and a group of MPD staff is putting its focus on reaching Madison’s LGBTQ+ kids.
1/3/2022 • InBusiness Magazine
MCPF would like to thank Jan Wilson and InBusiness Magazine for their "Good Will Policing" article describing MCPF's partnership with the Madison Police Department. We are thankful for the recognition and ongoing support we receive from the greater Madison business community!
Note: One small correction in the article, MCPF does not provide funds for equipment to MPD. The equipment examples at the very end of the article were provided as examples of requests MCPF would not fund as they do not align with our mission to GROW the relationship between police and the community.
